Historic building - Temples - Museum - Top sights
Sukhumvit
So named for Sukhumvit Rd. that runs diagonally through its centre. For our purposes we define Sukhumvit as the area from the railroad/expressway on the west, along New Phetburi Rd. on the north to Ekkamai Rd. (Sukhumvit 63) on the east with Rama IV Rd. marking the southern border.
That said, Sukhumvit also has quite a number of residential buildings (apartments and condominiums) which have attracted a number of restaurants, shops and pubs that make it a very popular area.
In addition to
the wide selection of hotels, the Sukhumvit area now has quite a few
serviced apartments that are particularly well suited for long staying
guests whether they be on business, leisure and/or medical visits.
And with the BTS running along Sukhumvit Rd. most hotels are within a short walk to a BTS station making it an ideal location from which to explore Bangkok.

The Emporium
Nana Plaza
it is not certain why so many tourists feel that it is a must to check out the seedy red light districts that Bangkok has become so famous for, but it is common for all types of tourists to hit some sort of sex show while in town. There are three distinct areas, including Patpong, Nana plaza and soi Cowboy, which at night turn into centres for all sex related activities, (Sala Daeng, Nana and Asoke BTS stations respectively). Open: from early evening to early morning
Soi Cowboy
Soi Cowboy don’t have the out and out nudity that can be found in Patpong, but the scene is still pretty full-on at times. Soi Cowboy is a small lane that runs between the Sukhumvit Soi 21 and 23 and it is packed with go-go bars and one or two regular bars, all of them with bright flashing neon signs, loud music blaring out and many ‘friendly’ ushers trying to entice you inside. The Soi Cowboy scene spreads out slightly from the main lane itself; there are a few hostess bars and massage parlours around the area too.
Seacon Square is a large indoor shopping mall in Prawet District, Bangkok. It was opened in 1994 in a ceremony presided over by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The shopping center covers a total area of 500,000m2 and houses more than 400 stores. The building is 500 meters long, making it one of the largest shopping malls in Thailand. Location: 55 Srinakarin Road, Nongbon Prawet Bangkok 10250 - Tel : 0-2721-8888 on Sukhumvit

Klong Toey Market, Klong Toey (just south of Queen Sirikit Convention Center MRT). A huge and surprisingly centrally located definitely off the tourist trail: the stalls sell goods for Thais, at Thai prices. Open 24 hours, but best experienced in the early hours of the evening.
